When Steve Walmsley founded his consulting practice in sales and leadership effectiveness in 1994, he had four key goals in mind:
- To make a positive and sustainable impact on each clients business.
- To increase leaders abilities to make a difference in practical, measurable terms, reinforcing their personal strengths.
- To harness the goodwill and drive that top performers bring to the organizations they represent.
- To help businesses really do what they set out to do by aligning strategy, culture and proven management tools.
Clients embraced those goals and Walmsley & Co. was born. Over the years, Steve has helped introduce complex change initiatives and guided new sales strategies from development through implementation. For Fortune 100 corporations, privately held companies and entrepreneurial firms, he has achieved quick wins, higher profitability and long-term success. And out of these achievements, he has evolved a series of high impact practice systems designed to help leaders and top performers across the business spectrum.
A corporate veteran with over 20 years of leadership and coaching expertise, Steve began shaping his vision in the 1980s. As Head of Sales and Relationship Management for Bank of Montreals securities unit, he was instrumental in creating leadership and client service teams to drive significant change. He piloted initiatives to reshape the corporate culture, encouraging staff to unleash their true potential. And he implemented a successful long-term strategy, making positive change the lifeblood of the groups ongoing business strategy.
Taking this experience to the next level, Steve went on to positions with Corporate Performance Systems in Boston and New York, and ultimately to Watson Wyatt as Practice Leader, Organization Effectiveness.
Steve is active in various business-related associations and sponsors a junior golf tournament that encourages young players to achieve their personal best. He was educated at Queens University and has pursued advanced leadership training at Harvard Business School.
